
Meet the Team
Each year, students at Sheridan college come together to form the B222 Journal team, combining their skills and passions in editorial work, fundraising events, and bi-annual launches for new issues.

Managing Editor
Yuliana S
Lia (she/her) is a poet who is currently in her third-year in the creative writing & publishing program at Sheridan College. Aside from writing, she loves to recreate online recipes, exploring a new city, and journaling. Her poem “Ballad of an Indonesian Jackal” was awarded runner up for the 2024 Austin Clarke Prize in Literary Excellence by The Ex-Puritan.

Art Director
Naya
Naya (she/her) is a third year CW&P student, aspiring novelist, and amateur visual development artist. She likes to explore a combination of Grimdark Surrealism and Gothic Western themes in her work.

Prose Editor
Micaela
Micaela (she/her) is in her third year of Creative Writing and Publishing. She has previous experience as an editorial intern for Grafos y Maquinaciones. She is an international student from Peru who loves cats, romantic comedies, and travelling the world.

Poetry Editor
Paige LeBlanc
Paige (they/them) is a third-year CW&P student. They are an avid poetry reader and writer, as well as a past contributor of B222. They cannot wait to be inspired by contributors and fellow B222 team members this year.

Art Editor
Mara Pendon
Mara (she/her) is currently a third-year Creative Writing & Publishing student. An avid reader, she especially enjoys magical realism and contemporary fiction. She likes to spend her time journaling, people watching at the airport (willingly), and having late night karaoke sessions

Editorial Assistant
Emma Sim
Emma (she/her) is currently in her third year of Creative Writing & Publishing. She reads widely, enjoys writing prose and screenplays, and adores editing of all kinds. She also loves experimenting with recipes and has an affinity for spreadsheets.

Event Coordinator
Aislin Carrol
Aislin (she/her) is in her third year in the Creative Writing & Publishing program. She was the Special Events Program Coordinator for the City of Brantford, the recipient of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for community service, and the Chair for the Youth Advisory Committee with the Brant Community Foundation.

​Sarah is in her 3rd year of CW&P and a retired varsity athlete. With a strong passion and experience with advertising, marketing and publicity, she’s super excited to take her experience to the literary community with B222!

Quin
Quin Braden (she/they) is a writer of speculative short fiction which explores morality, religion and the supernatural. She is pursuing an Honours Baccalaureate degree in Creative Writing & Publishing at Sheridan College. They are also a first reader for Augur Magazine and Tales & Feathers.

Adam (he/him) is currently enjoying his second year of the Creative Writing and Publishing program at Sheridan College. As a creative writer himself, he looks forward to taking the passion projects of contributors to the next level and showcasing their well-earned achievements for the world to see.

Macie
Macie (she/they) is a third year student in Creative Writing & Publishing with previous experience as a Social Media Manager for B222. She adores mythology, queer fiction, and cats. She loves all forms of art and is always seeking new stories to inspire her.

Sam
Sam Hounsome, a third year CW&P student, prose writer, President of the Sheridan Creative Writing Corner, first reader for Augur Magazine, Tales and Feathers, and now B222. Sam’s other passions include TTRPGs and needlepoint.

Sydney Hayes
Sydney (she/her) is in her third year in the Creative Writing & Publishing program. She loves to read and write widely with a fondness specifically for literary fiction about off-putting women trying to figure things out. She is so excited to have the privilege of reading submissions for B222!

Quinn
Quinn is a third-year Creative Writing and Publishing student. He enjoys writing poetry, studying insects, and reading fiction. He worked as a private editor for journalist Haroon Siddiqui and is currently a grant writer for Pure Gold Foundation.

Tali Voron is the managing editor at The Ampersand Review of Writing & Publishing and teaches in the Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing at Sheridan College. Tali is the founder and publisher at The Soap Box Press and the founder and managing editor at Plume Press.
