B222
Our Story
B222 was founded in 2022 by Noémi Blom, Emily Breitkopf, Hazel Mekkattukulam, and Stephanie Pugliese, in their final year in the Creative Writing & Publishing Honours Bachelor degree program. The team will grow by recruiting students from different years of study, programs, and campuses. Its first issue was released in April 2023.
Meet the Team
Gabrielle Goudie
Managing Editor
Gabby is a fourth-year student in the CW&P program. Her ideal day includes an exhausting hike, a home cooked meal, and starting three new books before conking out. Besides a bedside table covered in sci-fi and short stories, she keeps busy with songwriting, crafts, and all kinds of art.
Constanza Paez Silva
Art Director
Constanza is a third-year student in Sheridan College's Creative Writing & Publishing program, working as B222’s Art Director. She is a long-time lover of fantasy and science fiction novels, Japanese manga, anime, and art. She likes to sketch, write, and go mushroom hunting in her spare time.
Ava Rahimpour
Prose Editor
Ava Rahimpour is a 3rd year student in Creative Writing & Publishing at Sheridan College. She has always loved reading and writing and aims to one day publish a fantasy novel. Apart from school she makes music, teaches music, writes fiction, and volunteers in her community.
Kennedy Cast
Poetry Editor
Kennedy is a fourth-year student in the Creative Writing and Publishing program here at Sheridan. She writes in a variety of genres but most often through poetry or prose. She has a particular fondness for the macabre and unusual. In her spare time, she can be found adding to her ever-growing TBR pile that she swears she’ll get to by year's end.
Matt Boylan
Art Editor
Matt is interested in creative expression across many different mediums. He loves to read and view art that pushes boundaries and defies convention; breaking the mold and creating something new, unique, and exciting. He is an avid reader of many genres, with a special preference for the modernist avant-garde era of the 20th century. He enjoys travelling and immersing himself in different cultures, along with hiking and taking photographs.
Jenna James
Editorial Assistant
Jenna James (she/her) is a queer storyteller, songwriter, and critic with a passion for weird fiction and community building (and is always looking for folks to jam with!). A fourth-year student of Sheridan College’s Creative Writing & Publishing program, her stories and reviews have previously been published in B222, The Ampersand Review and Intermission Magazine. While originally from Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland), Jenna is currently filling her time as an interim mainlander.
